What this site is

Mesh & Signal publishes editorial guidance about home networking equipment. It is information and opinion, offered in good faith and with the sourcing standards set out on our methodology page.

It is not:

• A testing laboratory. We do not perform hands-on testing and we state this on every page that carries a recommendation. Performance figures quoted here belong to the manufacturers or to named independent outlets, and are attributed as such.
• Professional installation or engineering advice. If you are running cable inside walls, working near electrical systems, or altering anything structural, use a qualified professional.
• A retailer. We do not sell products, take payment, hold stock, or handle shipping, returns or warranties. Your purchase contract is with the retailer you buy from.
• A guarantee of any outcome. Wi-Fi performance depends on your specific building, wiring, devices, neighbors and internet service, and no general guidance can promise a result in a house we have never seen.

Accuracy and currency

We try hard to be accurate and we correct errors when we find them or when readers report them — the process is on our editorial policy page. But specifications change, products are discontinued, providers change their fees and approved equipment lists, and standards move. Every page carries a visible last-updated date so you can judge how current it is, and we ask that you verify anything critical — particularly a modem's approval for your provider and speed tier — against the primary source before buying.

The site is provided on an "as is" basis. We make no warranty that it is complete, error-free, or uninterrupted.

We do not control those sites, are not responsible for their content, prices, availability, privacy practices or terms, and a link is not an endorsement of anything beyond the specific point it is cited for. Prices

Where this site shows a price it is dated and attributed, and where we cannot verify a current price we show no figure at all — the buy button opens the retailer's own listing instead. Prices, availability and specifications at the retailer are theirs, change constantly, and are the only ones that govern your purchase.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Magoo Media Group and the author are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or from any decision made on the basis of it, including loss of data, loss of profits, damage to equipment, or costs incurred in purchasing or installing products. The text, structure, scoring rubrics and original diagrams on this site are the property of Magoo Media Group. You are welcome to quote short passages with a link back and clear attribution. Republishing pages in whole or in substantial part, scraping the site for training or resale, or reproducing it behind a paywall is not permitted without written permission.
